“Polydioxanone (PDO) biostimulating threads are an outpatient treatment that involves the insertion of absorbable threads made of a biocompatible material, which have been used for several years in general and vascular surgery.
These threads perform a dual function:
- an intense biostimulation of the tissues with a toning effect and improved skin brightness;
- they provide support to the sagging skin and connective tissue structure by exerting gentle mechanical traction”.

The treatment: minimally invasive and painless.
The threads are inserted through very thin, painless needles and positioned to create a sort of subdermal mesh, without cuts or scars. Anesthesia is not required, but a topical anesthetic can be used.
Once inserted, the threads maintain their resistance for 60-80 days, and are then completely reabsorbed after 8-12 months, producing new collagen and creating a sort of subcutaneous scaffolding that strengthens and supports the tissues.
The stimulating effect is visible after 4 weeks: an improvement is observed in the treated area, the skin is elastic and vital, the skin tone is increased and the appearance of wrinkles is improved”.
